    Job DescriptionThe Emerging Workforce division of the Hampton Roads Workforce Council was designed in 2023 to \create a regional talent pipeline focused on increasing access to professional development \opportunities and economic mobility for youth and young adults in the region, of approximate ages \10-24. The Director, Emerging Workforce drives the implementation, management, scaling, and \sustainment of the Council’s strategic goals related to the emerging workforce, and includes the \supervision of a team, programming efforts, marketing, and reporting requirements for the division. \This role will oversee the deployment of services for youth and young adults including, but not limited \to, career exploration and immersion, job search preparation, internship-experience placement, post\secondary and graduate school preparation, financial literacy, general outreach, and follow-up. Also, \the Director will support participating employers and other stakeholders in creating career \development initiatives for youth and young adults. Work is performed under the general supervision \of the Senior Director, Community Initiatives.
    Key Responsibilities-Provide daily management of the Emerging Workforce division including staff supervision, \scheduling, budgeting, and event planning. \• Implement and track yearly goals and objectives, monitor, and report progress. \• Complete annual evaluations of program effectiveness and develop improvement activities to \enhance challenge areas. \• Establish and manage partnerships with businesses, secondary education providers, post\secondary education providers, community organizations, and faith-based institutions to \further the Emerging Workforce mission. \• Work with the Council’s Business Services and Employer Engagement Teams to identify \opportunities for collaboration between the business community, youth, and young adults. \• Help the effort to further develop and manage our internship and job portal, one that \encompasses the most in-demand industries and jobs, encourages participation, and tracks \success. \• Oversee the implementation of a robust internal internship program for the Emerging \Workforce Department. \• Work with the Council’s Fund Development team as applicable to garner additional resources \through grant applications and other funding opportunities. \• As needed, provide on-site support during career fairs, interview days, etc. \• Oversee the coordination of all Emerging Workforce special events. \• Attend staff events and programs, as necessary. \• Perform related tasks as required.
