    Job DescriptionGENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES\We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Maritime Data Coordinator to support our\Hampton Roads Maritime Training System team with data administration, reporting, and quality \control. This role functions with a strong emphasis on data accuracy, validation, and metrics reporting.\The ideal candidate is analytical, methodical, and comfortable working extensively in Excel. This person \will play a critical role in ensuring data integrity and producing reliable reports that support grant \reporting and organizational decision-making.
    Key ResponsibilitiesESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS \• Perform high-volume data entry with exceptional accuracy\• Conduct data validation and audits to ensure data integrity and consistency\• Maintain and update centralized data files in Excel or other databases\• Generate recurring and ad hoc reports and performance metrics\• Create clear, easy-to-understand data visualizations (charts, dashboards, summaries)\• Identify discrepancies and resolve data issues proactively\• Organize and maintain documentation related to data processes\• Support process improvement efforts related to data tracking and reporting

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or \ability required. \LANGUAGE SKILLS\• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal\• Ability to respond effectively to inquiries and complaints and other sensitive program related \matters\• Ability to facilitate individual and group discussions\• Ability to effectively present and report required information to both small and large groups\as requested.\MATHEMATICAL SKILLS\• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole\numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and\percentage.\REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS\• 2+ years of administrative or data coordination experience\• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, lookups, charts)\• Strong data entry accuracy and attention to detail\• Ability to perform data audits and reconcile discrepancies\• Experience generating reports and tracking metrics\• Highly organized with strong time management skills\• Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data trends\PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS\• Knowledge of basic data management fundamentals (data structure, validation rules, data \quality best practices)\• Experience creating dashboards or data visualizations\• Familiarity with data governance or documentation standards\• Experience supporting operational or business teams\OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES\• Ability to understand the vision and values of the Workforce Council and to implement the \mission, purpose, and goals\• A high level of self-motivation and energy\• Willingness to work both independently and with a team\• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task under minimal \supervision to exhibit “follow-through” on tasks and goals\• Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing\• Ability to develop and sustain positive relationships.
