    Job DescriptionThe role of the VHCDC Homeownership Coach is to guide first-time home buyer clients through their journey to home ownership by providing personalized education, financial planning, and mortgage readiness support. The incumbent is responsible to empower individuals to make informed decisions and build long-term housing stability, while delivering comprehensive educational and counseling programs focused on homeownership. Ultimately, the Homeownership Coach will utilize tools related to budgeting, debt reduction, and credit rebuilding to enable our clients to reach their homeownership goals.
    Key ResponsibilitiesConducts home buyer education workshops on topics such as, but not limited to, personal credit and FICO scores, budgeting and finance, residential mortgage loans, real estate agents and negotiations, home inspections, property surveys, the closing process, and closing cost and down-payment assistance programs.\\Conducts comprehensive individual pre-purchase, financial capability, foreclosure mitigation, and post purchase one-on-one counseling sessions.\\Creates individual, client-centered action plans to clearly identify next steps required for the client to meet their goal of homeownership. \\Collects and reviews client documentation to determine program eligibility, mortgage readiness, and/or compliance required by funding source.\\Conducts and maintains schedule for timely and effective case management, as required to meet compliance standards.\\Prepares, maintains and updates client information and case notes into the client case management system on a timely basis with specific attention to detail and accuracy.\\Follows the most current practices in assessing the homeowners’ ability to remain in their current home through loan modification, refinance or other appropriate steps. Identifies and connects client to appropriate VHCDC or third party resources.\\Maintains schedule of appointments for counseling sessions and adheres to process for customer follow-up as required by respective VHCDC housing program(s).\\Keep current on all federal, state and local laws, regulations and guidelines regarding the operations of counseling programs and maintain appropriate certifications.\\Maintain adherence to all guidelines related to the confidentiality
