| Key Responsibilities | The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for operating motor vehicles and heavy equipment to the quality and safety standards established by Hampton Roads Contracting, Inc. Additionally, some manual and semi-skilled labor and other assignments may be required. Essential functions include but are not limited to:\\Inspect equipment/machinery for safe day-to-day operation and for general maintenance needs.\Clean, maintain, and secure all equipment as directed by management and company policies and procedures.\Operate heavy equipment such as backhoes, forklifts, excavators, aerial equipment, and other heavy construction/maintenance equipment.\Perform excavating and grading.\Interact with construction general laborers and/or crew members who are facilitating alignment, movement, and adjustment of the equipment to complete the specifications for the construction project.\Execute daily work instructions received from supervisor in a timely manner. |
