    Job DescriptionUnder general supervision, this position develops partnerships with community-based organizations, \facilitates their connections with relevant stakeholders, and provides support to strengthen their \organizational growth and effectiveness. The position works strategically to reduce community \violence through data-informed programs and collaborative strategies. Reports to Assistant Deputy \City Manager.
    Key ResponsibilitiesDevelops and sustains relationships with community-based organizations to guide and support their \Community Violence Intervention (CVI) activities. Designs and implements community outreach \strategies to strengthen partnerships and enhance community engagement. Serves as a liaison between \community-based organizations, the Office of Community Safety (OCS), and programs providing \primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention services.\Works with community-based organizations, service providers, and the public to assess community \needs and build awareness of CVI strategies and supportive services. Engages local stakeholders, \coordinates coalitions, and participates in community events to strengthen collaboration. \Promotes professional development opportunities for community-based organizations and service \providers. Manages the planning and execution of community events, trainings, and information \sessions to enhance service delivery.\Conducts community needs assessments to identify areas of risk for individuals vulnerable to violence. \Analyzes the operational needs of community-based organizations and service providers to support \organizational growth and effectiveness. Prepares reports and documentation, including grant \summaries, operational assessments, and community engagement updates.\Performs other duties as assigned.

    Skills and Experience• Community Violence – Considerable knowledge of community history, culture, and dynamics as \it pertains to gun violence. \• Community Engagement – Considerable knowledge of principles and best practices related to \effective community and youth engagement. \• Prevention Program Administration – Considerable knowledge of methods for establishing \community partnerships and ensuring program administration. \• Customer Service – Considerable knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer \service, including setting and meeting quality standards and evaluating satisfaction.\REQUIRED SKILLS\• Interpersonal Relationships/Customer Service – Develops and maintains cooperative and \professional relationships with employees and all levels of management to include representatives \from other departments and organizations. Effectively handles inquiries and complaints from, or \disputes with, customers.\• Time Management - Plans and organizes daily work routine. Estimates expected time of \completion of elements of work and establishes a personal schedule accordingly. Implements work \activities in accordance with priorities and estimated schedules. \REQUIRED ABILITIES\• Judgement/Decision Making – Ability to use logic and reasoning to understand, analyze, and \evaluate situations and exercise good judgment to make appropriate decisions.\• Communication – Excellent ability to listen and understand directions, information and ideas \presented verbally and in writing. Ability to handle a variety of customer service issues with tact, \confidentiality, and diplomacy and in a confidential manner.\• Accounting/Budgeting - Ability to perform arithmetic, algebraic, and statistical applications. \Ability to employ economic and accounting principles and practices in the analysis and reporting \of data.
